Based on Toyota’s leadership role in creating an environmentally friendly vehicle, Nori Concept challenge us to look ahead and create a smart vision that addresses the problem of fuel consumption, emissions, environmentally friendly materials, new designs as well as manufacturing technology, and turn it into an attractive design solution emotion.
While most of the current generation car is made of a chassis that is wrapped by body panels, car concept Nori offers ideas into one body and chassis, in PODULAR structure, designed in a strong, lightweight and beautiful. Technology bioplastics made using “nori” (seaweed) combined with a woven carbon fiber for solid. Solar cells are woven into the structure PODULAR to capture and generate additional solar energy. As a global solution and a new aesthetic design, Nori reduce the weight and number of components while producing new energy.
In the early stages of the design process for each structure PODULAR, the designers and engineers work together using a design of “real-time” to ensure a balance between strength, lighter weight and aesthetic design. This process eliminates the conflict between the traditional engineering design and form with function, and allows the process design / engineering go hand in hand at the same time.
Structure PODULAR its planted in the factories which are located close to the sea, where seaweed thrives, and use it as a source of bioplastics is an effort to minimize the impact on the food chain (corn / donkey, etc.) that were previously used as a source of bioplastics. For personalization, color / graphic of nori can be changed via an electronic data. Since there is no door in this car, access to exit / entry is done by stepping on and get into the structure PODULAR Nori. As for the drivetrain, Nori uses four electric motors and batteries.
